Dong Zhang completed his bachelor’s degree in Physics at University College London. During his undergraduate studies, he undertook an internship investigating the improvement of photovoltaic properties in perovskite solar cells through alkali-metal doping. His DPhil project focuses on simulating the temperature-dependent behaviour of perovskite–silicon tandem solar cells to improve their performance and stability under real operating conditions. His work combines optical and electrical modelling with an emphasis on interface recombination, charge-transport mechanisms, and coupled optical–electrical simulations. Through this research, he aims to develop predictive frameworks for the reliable design and optimisation of next-generation photovoltaic devices.
