Jingyan (Erica) Chen obtained her bachelor in materials engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. During her undergraduate studies she has contributed to a conducive fabric research project for four months in National Research Council (NRC) Canada as part of her internship experience. Besides, she also did an eight-month internship in Japan working in JFE Steel Co. focusing on database constructing and forecasting of steel Continuous Cooling Transformation (CCT) Diagrams. She likes traveling in her spare time, and she is also very interested in photography. Her DPhil project aims to optimize the new production process to make Next-Generation Photovoltaics to increase the solar cell efficiency as well as lower the production cost.
